{REVIEW} EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale

scale   EatSmart Digital Food Scale

I was so excited when asked to review the EatSmart Digital Food Scale.  I have never had a food scale and have always wanted one.

I have all intentions of using this food scale for exactly what it’s supposed to be for, weighing food and watching my calories.  But there has been so much going on in my house and with the holidays coming, just recovering from shoulder surgery a few weeks ago and family being in town that starting a diet now would be useless.

So in the meantime I am going to also be using this food scale to help me with my new hobby …soap-making!  I took a class in soap-making, so you can see the Peppermint soap I made in class on the EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale.

I was hoping to make my first batch of Lavender and Lemongrass soap for this review using my ingredients pictured below.  But there are not enough hours in the day to get it all done.  eat smart 2

{Holiday Guide} Review: YumEarth Organics

yum organics YumEarth Organics

I couldn’t wait to review these. I love fruit snacks and lollipops, but the fact that these are organic made it even more exciting.

I had hoped my son would try them, but he doesn’t like anything sweet.  The nice thing is these don’t actually taste artificially sweet, they taste REAL!

So with family in town (young teenagers), I asked them to try the fruit snacks and lollipops.

This was their response:

(Excuse the noise it was a little loud in my house)

Product Review: “My Spot” A Visual Cue to Help Kids Find Their Spot

I know children like to move around a lot.  I mean how many times during dinner or homework time are you telling your children to “sit down”, or maybe even “find your spot and sit down”.

ViveVita s a family lifestyle product company – creating solutions for everyday living!  They have such wonderful products that in speaking with the representative I was having a hard time picking which product I would like to review, the “My Spot” or the “Everyday Elegance Chair Covers“.  Well they nicely sent me both.  Keep your eyes out for the chair cover review that will be coming soon!

The nice thing about this product is it’s versatility.  You can use it as a place holder, you can use it for a time out spot, for me I used it to give my son a visual of where he needs to stand while watching tv.  Watch the video:

Domeo iPad Case Covers: Loft Folio Review and Giveaway

My husband just recently purchased a new iPad for me since I plan to attend more blogging conferences, which I was very grateful for.  However, I realized at my last blogging conference that the iPad was so low and I wished there was a way that I could prop it up so I didn’t have to look down the whole time, causing me to get a neck ache after awhile.  I also wished that I had a wireless keyboard to streamline my blogging experience.

Well I guess a little elf heard my wishes, because this Christmas my husband gave me an Apple Wireless Keyboard ~ love it!

It’s makes typing with an iPad so much easier, more comfortable and basically streamlines your typing experience.

My husband told me that he got it at Best Buy for $69.99.  A great buy!

Then I was introduced

Barbara’s daughter was diagnosed with Autism. The PECS (Picture

Barbara stated: “Caregiver Cards has surprised us at the versatility of its functions.  We have had a few people purchase them for adults with
developmental disabilities.”

Parking Pal Magnet

Created by a mom for moms!

MISSION:

  • Help reduce injuries to children in parking lots
  • Heighten awareness of the dangers in parking lots

Parents, grandparents, day-care providers, aunts, uncles, friends, or whoever is caring for a child can be easily distracted in parking lots. Loading or unloading packages, rifling for keys, tending to the baby, or helping elderly parents can take precious attention away from our children, leaving them vulnerable to a number of dangerous situations.

Your child will discover that the Parking Pal is their safe spot, and they will know where to go the second they are outside the car. It also helps teach them that parking lots are no place to play.

Here is a video I took of my son using his Parking Pal in his school parking lot:

It’s up to us to teach our children parking lot safety you can’t depend on the other drivers to watch out for your kids.  Between being in a rush, and getting on their phones they don’t even think about the others in the parking lot.

The CHAT Bag is a our Featured Product from the SpecialMoms Special Needs Holiday Guide.

We had the great pleasure of reviewing this product from Lori Holbrook.  This bag makes carrying an Ipad or certain tablets easy and accessible for special needs children who rely on a communication device to speak.

The CHAT Bags currently fit Apples IPads 1, 2, 3 and 4 but if you don’t have an IPad you can special order a bag.

It allows the child to carry their IPad with them and have the screen accessible to them.

There are a lot of great fabrics and she is still coming up with some unique ways to use the bag.

Here is my vlog about the bag:

So what’s the buzz in the mommysphere? Subscription boxes! ~  We love them, but what are they?

Kiwi Crate

It’s an amazing concept that I wished I thought of.  Just like you get magazines mailed to you every month, well now your children can have a box of goodies mailed right to them.  Yes and it’s fun stuff.

As a mother of a child with special needs, I am always looking for different toys, games, apps or activities to review that my son can enjoy doing, while working on fine motor, cognitive thinking, eye hand coordination.  All things that are important for children to complete daily tasks.
